Benja K. Thomas in an Actress, Photographer. She is the recipient of the 2015 OBIE Award for her ensemble participation in Booty Candy written and directed by Robert O’Hara at Playwright Horizons. She is a proud member of (A.E.A.) (S.A.G./AFTRA).
She is currently working on a workshop production of Miller, Mississippi by Boo Killerbrew as part of the “Alley Theatre New” playwright’s festival.
Other work includes: “BARBECUE” at The Public Theater, “UNSPEAKABLE” the unauthorized story of Richard Pryor” at The Apollo Theater, Actor 3 in “BOOTY CANDY” written and directed by Robert O’Hara at The Wilma Theater, “PEARL’S GONE BLUE” awarded Best Musical at the Fringe Festival 2011, “PIGFOOT MARY SAYS GOODBYE TO THE HARLEM RENAISSANCE”, a role written specially for her, “INTIMATE APPAREL” and “AMERICAN MENU” to name a few.
Films Include: “Chronically Manhattan” 2016 release and Mama on “Friends of the People” MADtv.
